Questions and Answers for Seniors
Q. Is a
Consultation necessary?
A. No, it isn’t
necessary … BUT, it is highly desired. The time spent in
consultation is time truly well-spent. This time together … before
you go in front of the camera, can be crucial to the early,
successful entry into capturing those special images that you
deserve. Why not take time to get to know one another before going
into the camera room? ...
Q. What is a
Creation Fee/Session Fee? What is the actual Package? What is the
difference?
A. The Creation
Fee is charges for studio and photographers’ time and varied other
expenses – including, but not limited to, film, processing, digital
capture and creation, computer enhancements, and travel … and are
in addition to any package price. No prints, nor images
are included in the Creation Fee/Session Fee. The Package you order
is what you actual receive upon our receipt of final payment. The
Session is the (photography) time spent with you capturing those
special images that can be selected from to make up your Package.
Q. When do I
pay?
A. To reserve a
photographer for your Senior Portrait Session, a deposit of not less
than half of the total amount of the selected package (also includes
session fee(s)) is required. The remainder is due when you pick up
your completed album/book (packages A, B, and C (with upgrade)) …
approximately five weeks after the session. You will be able to
view and select from these original images the photos that will make
up your selected package. Captured Images for Packages C, D and E
will be viewed in Studio by appointment and final payment is due
upon placement of order.
Q. Can I copy or scan
images created by Studio 19 Photography, Inc.?
A.
NO! Copying (in any
way) … scanning in on personal computers/scanners, or making copies
through commercial copy facilities is not allowed! All
prints/ photographs/images (created by Studio 19 Photography, Inc.
and their photographers) are owned and copyrighted by Studio 19
Photography, Inc., and may not be copied, nor reproduced in any
manner! Copying is strictly prohibited by federal “copyright” laws
and may not be copied unless you receive written permission from
Studio 19 Photography, Inc.
Q. Can I
purchase my original prints?
A. Yes! Your
images can be purchased at any time – when you place a portrait
order, or at a later date.
Q. Is there a
difference between an “original print,” a preview … a proof?
A. Yes, there can
be. Here at Studio 19 Photography, we expend the necessary steps of
quality and cost to hand over to you “original prints” – not
previews or proofs! Our “original prints” are computer analyzed for
the perfection of color, contrast, and overall – to the highest
standards of professional quality … as is a finished print. Some
photographers (studios) do not expend the costs that we do and find
the least expensive means to create their images – thus,
previews/proofs … AND, poorer quality in the finished product.
Q. What about a
Yearbook Print?
A. A “standard
size” yearbook glossy is included FREE with all package orders.
Every School Yearbook Editor has a deadline for submission. We will
try to meet it with YOUR help in ordering your package in a timely
manner. Please allow approximately 4-6 weeks for your order to be
completed.
Q. If it rains,
should I keep my appointment?
A. Yes. Keep your
appointment anyway. Senior appointments are very hard to get …
sometimes taking months of advance planning. So, come in for your
indoor portraits; the outdoors will be rescheduled for a later
date. It's much easier to reschedule a photo shoot in the outdoors
than to reschedule the entire session.
Q. How do
Cancellations or rescheduling work?
A. Cancellations
or Rescheduling less than 48 hours prior to your appointment time
will forfeit your session fee paid.
Q. Can I have a
Saturday Session?
A. We normally do
not schedule Senior Sessions on Saturdays; if we do … there is an
additional charge of $50.00. Due to the large number of weddings we
photograph on weekends, we attempt to handle our Senior Sessions
during the week. AND, based on our philosophy and continuing goals
to remain a low volume portrait business – we photograph no more
than two Seniors per day. We feel that by spending more
personalized time with each Senior, the outcome will show the very
best portraiture possible of that individual.
Q. Corrections
and Retouching?
A. Basic Retouching
(Enhancements) is included on all Selected Package Poses (e.g.,
softening and some removal of minor skin problems). Custom Image
Enhancements (often called Digital Artwork) … such as removal of
eye glass glare, scars, whitening of eyes or teeth, enhancement of
eyes, removal of hairs, braces … and many other additional services,
are billed at $75.00 per hours with a 15 minute minimum charge.
Current lab rates apply. Is the cost of Custom Image
Enhancement/Digital Artwork worth it? In most all cases it is well
worth the additional costs! Please think “over time” … what the
worth to you would be to have the image of you … just THE WAY YOU
WANT IT!
Q. When will my
portraits be ready?
A. Normal delivery
time is 4 – 6 weeks. We will notify you by phone, or via post card
… as soon as your portraits are ready for pickup. At that time all
you have to do is schedule a time to view/pick up your order.
Q. Do we offer
Graduation Announcements?
A. Yes, we most
certainly do! We offer an excellent selection of Graduation
Announcement by stylart ®, Carlson Craft ®, and … we
can even custom design an announcement that is as unique as you.
So, if Quality, Variety … and Uniqueness are what you’re after,
let’s talk. …
Q. What can I
expect at my Photo Session?
A. Just imagine –
FUN! EXCITEMENT! ORIGINALITY! A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE … that you
will want to talk about and share with your friends. The creating
of your Senior Portraits will be a new experience for you. You can
expect our individual attention … a relaxed atmosphere with music …
and our easy-going, respectful style of photography. Plan on
arriving about 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to
select your outfits, complete any necessary paper work, and get
ready to have a SENIOR EXPERIENCE! Margitta and Eugene will help
you with your clothing/outfit(s) selection and choose the best
backgrounds and props for your poses. Please be sure to wear one of
your outfits to the session; this can save us a little time. AND,
we want you to bring two-three times as many clothing outfits to
your session … than what is called for in session(s) you’ve chosen.
This offers more variety for us to help you choose from.
Call early for your
appointment! We recommend early in the spring of your Junior Year …
